The portrait procedure begins with an initial consultation to discuss the size and spirit of the portrait. Clothing, setting, and where the portrait will hang will also be considered.
During the second meeting I will photograph the subject either at my studio or an agreed upon location. This photo session will explore various poses and expressions and typically lasts one to two hours.
Within a few days the photos will be ready for review by the client. Together we will select photos that will be used as reference material to create the portrait. The final composition and size of the painting will be decided. Framing for the portrait may also be discussed at this time.
The portrait will then be created in my studio. Depending on the complexity of the composition and existing schedules, the painting will be completed in three to four months. After completion, the portrait will be presented to the client.
