Harvest

I’ve decided I need to stop worrying about what to paint, and just paint. I’ll revist what I want to paint in a few months, but meanwhile I just need to paint something. And often. I guess I feel like I need to choose a genre (do people still use that word?) so I can focus on one thing and therefore, hopefully, become very good at that one thing.

But meanwhile I’ve painted this 11″x14″ oil on canvas of hay bales not too far from Houston. I’m calling it “Harvest”. I loved painting the soft grey greens, the cerulean blues, these are colors that make me happy. I like the subtle variations in the colors.

I suppose if I were smart I would paint a couple more paintings similar to this one, working with the mix of colors. Maybe.
