Ballerina Waiting

Sold!

I finally have something to post! I don’t know where this month has gone. Actually I do know, I’ve been busy with various volunteer activities, so many in fact that I’ve had to sit down and figure out which ones I need to cut out for now. But the good news is that I finally got to paint.

This is 12″x14″ oil on canvas. This young woman came over and modeled for me, in a ballet costume that I purchased. There is a lot that I love about painting ballerinas so there will probably be more to come. This painting is at the framer’s getting a pretty light gold frame. It’s at the framer’s getting a custom frame because I cut this linen covered panel to an odd size – 12″x14″ for some reason. It is $250 frame included or $200 unframed. Plus shipping.

  1. I LOVE this painting, Joan! I had to click for a larger view and your brush strokes are so nice and the colors in her white skirt are lovely. Beautifully done!

  2. It’s beautiful Joan. Makes me want to take my oils to my figure class again! Out of interest, how long did this painting take you? Did your model just do the one sitting?
