Jack-o-lantern class

On Wednesday afternoons I volunteer to teach art to a group of disabled adults. The last two weeks I made the lesson plan and this week we painted a jack-o-lantern for Halloween! I make four painted canvases for the class, each canvas showing progressively more of the painting. At the end of the 2 hour class everyone has a great looking painting.

I have enjoyed spending time with the students, they are all so patient and grateful to participate in the class. There is a lot of talent in the class, no two paintings are alike even though we’re all painting the same thing. Teaching is rewarding, how many times have we heard that? I don’t do it very often but I am reminded every time I do teach. Below are a couple of photos of the class and some of the other volunteers.

I hope everyone reading has a happy and safe Halloween!
