A few days ago I went over to the Houston Arboretum to paint the lily pond. It was hot (mid 80’s) but there was a nice breeze so it was pleasant after all. I feel very fortunate to have such a beautiful place to paint in “my own backyard” which means it’s only 5 minutes from my house. This is a 9″x12″ oil on masonite.

Joan this is gorgeous! Love it! And you ARE lucky, what a wonderful place to paint , or just sit around enjoying.
Beautiful painting, Joan! You got some nice darks and nice reflections.
I enjoyed reading about your trip to Paris and Geneva! Your paintings are just gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing!
LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this one. What an amazing painting! I love the hard lime green edge with all the soft fuzzy water and trees. This is really amazing, Joan.
I love lily pads and this area is a perfect place to paint! I love the reflections in the water and all the color you put there.
