This is a landscape I painted a few months ago. I finally got around to getting it framed. I took a photo of this barn on top of a hill covered with winter grasses on one of our many trips up to the Texas hill country. It’s a 30″x40″ oil on canvas. I show it with the frame my framer helped me choose for the painting. I put it up on our mantle just to show it’s size, that shot is below.
This morning I took this painting over to the space I rent at a local antiques and interiors shop. Hopefully this painting will find a home above someone else’s fireplace soon!
Oh Joan, these grasses are amazing. I love how you found so many beautiful colors in there. I know it won’t be in the antiques and interiors shop long. Some one will love to have this one hanging in there home.
Thank you Nancy! I hope you’re right!

Beautiful brushwork on the grasses.
Just have to say that your B & W kitty in the header is a ringer for my cat Elvis.
What a beautiful painting! That soft foreground draws me right in.
This is GORGEOUS Joan!!! Oh yes, I am sure it will find a happy home!! Beautiful.
