Here is my second portrait for my Body of Christ project. You can read more about the project on my website or scroll down and read my blog entry from when I started this project.
So far I am really enjoying taking photos of people and then painting them, though I had to paint this lovely woman twice to do her justice. Hopefully each one will get a little easier, though I know there will be ups and downs and some will emerge easier than others. My goal right now is to paint 24 portraits for the exhibit and I have about 24 weeks until the exhibit, subtracting a week here and there for travel and vacation. It will definitely be a challenge but that’s one of the reasons I want to do this, to challenge myself.
Wow! If you struggled, I can’t tell. This looks effortless. Gorgeous!
This is wonderful .. I can’t believe you struggled. Your work looks so confident. Really great work.
Love it! You really have a way with these faces.
Beautiful portrait, Joan! I love what you are doing!
Very good! She comes alive on the canvas and is also full of inner light and character!
What a wonderful project to embrace! You seem to have captured a breathable likeness. Can’t wait to see the others!
What a beautiful painting, the face looks so real and full of light. Excellent job , Joan.
