Seated Woman

Today I painted this seated woman. I had my husband take some photos of me last night sitting in a chair downstairs. Even though this is a very loose and almost abstract painting, I can still see parts of me in there. Very strange. I always thought that to make a painting look like someone, you needed lots of detail. But I can see that’s not true. Now I’m intrigued and want to paint more people. Oh, sadly I don’t have a dress like that, I embellished a bit! I believe they call it “artistic license”. I repainted her again as a 14″ x 18″, which is what you see here. The framed painting is $800.
