The painting of the elderly couple and of the dog are both paintings from the workshop. I have finally learned how to put down paint and just leave it (for the most part). I used to spend so much time reworking and adjusting. By leaving my first strokes, my intuitive strokes, I think the paintings have more character. It is fun to be in a classroom and see everyone’s differnt style of painting. It always amazes me to think that there are as many different painting styles as there are people. Everyone’s style is so individual. The challenge of a workshop is to integrate what I learn in the workshop, which is expressed in the instructor’s style, and incorporate that into my own paintings.
This was a five day workshop by Lesley Rich and I have other posts from the week.
