Faith

This is a new painting I call ‘Faith’. This is a bit like the angel paintings I painted last year (see archives). I love painting this way. Big and loose and powerful. ‘Faith’ is 22″ x 28″ and is framed in a beautiful wooden frame that’s about 3″ wide. I should take a photo with the frame included.

The beautiful statues that serve as an inspiration for this type of painting really speak to me. Something about the age of the statue, not just that actual age of the statue, but the fact that cement/concrete statues have been around for centuries brings a lot of history into these paintings. It’s a painting of something old that hopefully we feel a connection to today.

I am feeling more confident about my decision to rent the booth, mainly because I sold a painting last week from the booth. Very exciting to make my first sale! And today a designer at the shop gave me some wonderful ideas about how to make my booth look better (thank you Mary!). I can see why she’s a designer! I have a few days of work to do and then I will unveil my booth’s new look. It is going to look SO much better.
