The Booth

The booth! Arghh, the booth! Something that I thought would be so much fun has so far been mostly a pain in the you-know-what. And this morning I went over and took a photo so I would have one to post. And look at that booth, it looks a bit DRAB. So, now what. I think I need to add some touches to make the booth more inviting, so people will actually walk into my booth to see my paintings up close. I’ve already bought a table, you can see that narrow table in the photo. And not just any table, a table that needed to be refinished. Buying one in perfect condition would have been too easy.

So, next I need to add a couple of chairs with pillows and I would love another table. The danger is that my booth becomes a booth full of home furnishings instead of a booth featuring my paintings. But I need to do something to improve that drab booth.

And here this week was going to be a more relaxing week. I’ve been working hard on my paintings to get them ready for the booth and Nov. 1st came and I filled up the booth. Time to relax. Not!

So, stay tuned for an updated photo. I don’t know when and I don’t know what it’ll look like, but it’s got to be better than what you see here! Okay, enough negativity! I’ll feel better when my paintings begin to sell. And it is fun to buy tables and chairs for the booth, I just don’t want to get stuck with a bunch of extra furniture that we don’t need in case it doesn’t sell. (Note to my husband: honey, if you’re reading this . . . um, sorry, maybe just two chairs that would look great in our living room if they don’t sell.) Actually, I think the booth will look better when I get “The Orange Roof” painting back from the framer. It’s a nice large painting, 30″x40″, and I’ll hang it above the table. You can see I left a lot of room for that large painting. Plus another big barn painting I have at the framer will go into the booth.

And the best news is that I did manage to paint two paintings last week and I’m very happy with them. They’re almost finished so they should be on my website later this week, when they are finished.

See, ended on a positive note.
