Sketch

This is the beginning of an 8″x10″ painting. This is a wooded area not too far from Houston, I added the RV from another photo. I like the light/dark pattern so far.

On another note, I was on the computer this afternoon and I looked out the window to the front yard and saw a cement truck, 3 or 4 bulldozers, two huge trailers and another type of machinery for picking up debris. I just had to laugh, then run out and take a photo. The City of Houston contracted people from other states to come to Houston and pick up all the debris from Hurricane Ike and today was the day they cleared our front yard. The cement truck was there because the City of Houston, apparently not deterred by the storm, is sticking with their schedule to replace our water meters. So we had that digging going on last week and this week they are repairing the sidewalks they ripped up. I’m not sure what they have in store for us next week.

This evening I’m getting things done in 10 minute increments. I’m baking Wookies (Star Wars cookies that are basically chocolate chip cookies with cinnamon, but they’re supposed to be great), anyway, I’m baking Wookies for my daughter’s school lunch time party tomorrow. Because of damage to the cafeteria they’ve been eating outdoors every day since Ike.

  1. I like the sketch, and the previous post that you painted in the park. Glad you like the Block Island paintings. I like painting the buildings in the landscape too!
