Three Pears on Blue

This is the painting I started on the last day of the Quang Ho workshop. I finished it yesterday, I simplified the pattern on the tablecloth and broke up the green background with some subtle stripes when I got home. It’s 11″x14″ oil on linen canvas.

The workshop freed me up to try some different things, to push some of my ideas a little further. Of course now I have about a thousand paintings in my head that I want to try. No time though, tomorrow Quang Ho’s Landscape workshop starts. I need to pack up my art bag with all my supplies so tomorrow morning I’ll be ready for another intense three days!

  1. Very nice painting, with warm-cool contrast and interest added with the cloth pattern. Sure wish I was able to go to the plein-air workshop. ENJOY.

  2. Hope the landscape workshop is going great!! Tell us about it!
And, thanks for the posts about this previous workshop. Really interesting to follow!
