98 and no enemies

This is a little story for Denise, whose son left for college today. I hope it makes her strong and makes her smile. A story about a 98 year old woman.

98 and no enemies. A human interest story.

Toward the end of Sunday service, the minister asked, “How many of you have forgiven your enemies?”
80% held up their hands.
The minister then repeated his question. All responded this time, except one small elderly lady.
“Mrs. Neely? Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?”
“I don’t have any” she replied, smiling sweetly.
“Mrs. Neely, that is very unusual. How old are you?”
“Ninety-eight” she replied. The congregation stood up and clapped their hands.
“Oh, Mrs. Neely, would you please come down in front and tell us all how a person can live 98 years and not have an enemy in the world?”
The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle, faced the congration, and said, “I outlived the bitches”.

  1. Hah this story is pretty funny about the old lady!

And yes, you may post a link back to my blog! I will post one back to you when I start to put my paintings up soon so people can see your art!

  2. Hi Juan, I am going to set up some kind of page on my website with paintings for sale. I think that would be the best way to sell some of my paintings on-line. I would have good clear photos of the paintings that way. That’ll take me a little time, but meanwhile if you see one on my blog that you like, just ask me for a price and hopefully we can get something worked out!
    Glad you enjoyed the story,
    Joan

  3. Haha! Thanks so much Joan! It worked! I am sitting here laughing now! Today has gone well and I have done okay and held myself together. I so appreciate the story and your kind words and thoughts. Artists really are the best!

  4. Hahahahahahaha!

I used to attend an Episcopalian church with parishioners just like that lady! (sigh) I miss that place…

    You’ve made my day.

Best wishes with all of your paintings!
